Normal Noise focuses primarily on work from Barrett students, but we're happy to accept work from any students at Arizona State University.

What does the Normal Noise Editorial Staff do?
Design editor
Normal Noise’s design editor completes the design and layout of each issue. The design editor may also oversee a small team of designer who assist with design, printing, and delivery of the issue.
​Features editors ensure that all content is timely, critical, original, and persuasive. They support contributors through the writing process with notes, comments, edits, and suggestions on rough drafts; and meet with writers to provide additional resources, suggestions, and constructive criticism. Each nonfiction contributor is assigned an editor.
Literary editor
and Arts Editor
Normal Noise’s literary editor reviews poetry and fiction submissions. They make selections from the submissions pool, and these are ultimately included in the final issue.

Normal Noise's arts editor reviews visual art submissions. They make the selections from the submissions pool that are included in the final issue. When applicable, they also support visual artists in photographing their work.
Copy editor
Normal Noise’s copy editor reads through every nonfiction text to make sure that there are no grammatical, spelling, or citation mistakes, and will correct them as needed according to AP Style standards.
Marketing Manager
Our marketing manager curates Normal Noise's Instagram feed. They work with out design team to ensure our content is consistent to our brand and is promoting engagement with the magazine.
